The Hot Pickin’ Finger Lickin’ BBQ and Bands Festival will take place in Rolesville on Saturday, September 17th from 11 am – 6 pm at Rogers Road and Main Street in Rolesville. Rogers Road will be closed from Granite Rock Way to Main Street.
In its 7th year, the Festival is presented by the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce, with profits supporting Rolesville businesses and events throughout the year.
There are three barbecue competitions and, as a North Carolina Pork Council-sanctioned whole hog competition, the overall winner moves forward to the state competition in October. Rolesville Mayor Frank Eagles, business owner Robert Pettyjohn and WRAL-TV news anchor and reporter Ken Smith will judge the chicken and ribs competitions.
A crowd of 3,500 people is expected, with local bands The Country Justice, Southern Grace Rocks, 9 Xs Around, and Joe Keith and Friends performing.
The event is free, but food and kids’ rides and activities are extra. Barbecue plates including sides and a drink will be sold for $10 – $12. A two-hotdog combo with chips and a drink will be available for $5. White Street Brewing is a presenting sponsor of the event and will have two beer trucks at the Festival.
The band schedule is as follows:
