Another week is drawing to a close and exciting times are upon us this weekend. First, the weather has been iffy during the latter part of this week, and the first part of the weekend still brings a chance of off-and-on showers.
Tomorrow night’s weather should be okay for the second Friday Night on White of the season from 6 – 9:30 p.m. If it seems like we just had a Friday Night event, it’s because we did – the April concert was later in the month than usual due to the Easter holiday. No matter. Go out and enjoy this month’s band, Smile, which plays retro covers from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. White Street, Wake Forest.
If you want to try mixing art and entertainment, try the North Carolina Museum of Art – Art in the Evening at 5:30 p.m. Listen to Oak City Hot Mess, enjoy a glass of wine and small plates, and tour the galleries in both buildings.
Chicago is playing at the DPAC this weekend – tickets start at $25. Shows are Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Baseball lovers can go see the Durham Bulls play the Toledo Mud Hens on Friday at 7:05 p.m., Saturday at 6:35 p.m., or Sunday at 5:05 p.m. The Mudcats play Winston Salem on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Wake Forest Farmer’s market runs from 8 a.m. – noon at the Renaissance Center downtown. Check them out for a variety of craft and produce offerings.
