I have been writing for what seems like forever, about any multitude of topics that interest me, which means I’ll write just about anything. Well … not about quantum physics. Too heady.

I graduated with a journalism degree and have seen my work published in regional newspapers and magazines in Maryland (my home state) and North Carolina (my adopted state).

I started surviving nc as a way to help the many, many (did I say MANY) people moving to central North Carolina over the last few years. I’ve lived here now for over 23 years, and I hope I can provide some useful information and insight into the education, housing market, climate, culture, and more, since living in the south is very different from living up north and the transition can be challenging, if not overwhelming, at times!
